Leftovers – A Collection of 30 Fragiles

Leftovers ist ein fortlaufendes multidisziplinäres und experimentelles Musikprojekt, das vom Musiker und Schriftsteller Michael Franz Woels und Performancekünstler Burçak Konukman im Sommer 2016 in Wien initiiert wurde. Mit Hilfe von Sprach-Master-Soundkarten nahmen Woels und Konukman über 100 sehr kurze, improvisierte mehrschichtige Tracks (genannt Fragiles) mit verschiedenen Gastmusikern wie Gloria Damijan, Martin Burk, Robert Maiß und Florian Horwath auf. Im Dezember 2016 wurde eine Sammlung von 30 ausgewählten Fragmenten in Wien beim Salon Skug präsentiert. Im Februar 2017 wurden die Leftovers wieder aufgenommen und von Burçak Konukman in einer überarbeiteten Version performt. Für P-Bodies zeigen die Künstler die Performance während der Eröffnung, deren Leftovers über den gesamten Festivalzeitraum zu sehen sein werden.

BURÇAK KONUKMAN (1984, Ankara, Turkey)

lives and works in İstanbul.

After graduation from Ankara Anatolian High School of Fine Arts Painting Department, Burçak Konukman completed his bachelor degree on education of visual arts at Eskişehir Anadolu University. In 2009 He is started MA at Bilgi University, cultural management and he studied at Department of Cultural Studies and Aesthetic Communication at Hildesheim University, Germany in 2015 summer semester for erasmus + exhange program. Burçak Konukman completed MA degree in 2016 at Cultural Management. He took part of PAS # 47 (Performance Art Studies) ICON program realized in Wien, Austria, June 2016.

Burçak Konukman known as his multidisciplinary video and photo installations with live performances and site specific interventions. He had an artist in residency shcolarship at Art Center İstanbul by sponsorship of Borusan Holding between 2010-2012. He is part of Sinopale (international sinop bienniale) initiative in different social engaged projects as artist and volunteer between 2006-2014. He had a artist in residency shcolarship at Kultur Kontakt Austria and he followed his art research and experiences in Vienna,2013. His performances, video and photo installations takes part of international biennials, exhibitions and festivals since 2008. Burçak Konukman produced a radio show called “zamansız” which is brodcasted at Açık Radio between 2010-2013. He is co-founder and co-director of Germany based İPA(international Performance Association) İstanbul and he is Artistic Director of festival which took place in İstanbul called Platform Young Performance Artists ,2012,2013 and 2014 editions. He worked as contributer of SAVVY Contemporary Performance Department Berlin in 2014.

Burçak Konukman is currently working as event coordinator at REM Art Space which locates in Çukurcuma İstanbul and he is curator of guest artist workshop program in collaboration with Open Dialogue İstanbul. Burçak Konukman is coordinator of Danish Art Foundation İstanbul Program.
